For three days, the district between Montmartre and Pigalle will be alive with the frenetic rhythms of emerging music! The MaMA Festival, created 15 years ago to promote young artists, arrives with its hybrid, muscular and itinerant program from October 16 to 19.
The MaMA Festival, the music event that electrifies Pigalle and Montmartre
With its network of concert halls and bars, the 18th arrondissement (Pigalle and Montmartre sides) has been hosting a rather unique event in the capital since 2009! For three days, the district takes on the air of a festival thanks to MaMA, an event entirely devoted to introducing emerging artists to the general public and music professionals alike!
There’s no open-air stage here, but concert venues and halls close enough to each other so that spectators can navigate from one live show to the next! Every evening from October 17 to 19, dozens of concerts take place in the neighborhood! So don your wristband and head for the nine participating venues!
Some thirty concerts each evening
Designed to give festival-goers an earful of the latest music, the MaMA Festival has become a must for anyone on the lookout for new faces and new sounds! Yseult, Christine and the Queens, Eddy de Pretto and Youssoupha have all performed at MaMA, and the 2024 vintage promises to be explosive and exhilarating!
For the duration of the festival, you’ll be able to take advantage of a line-up that straddles the musical divide between the garage rock of Johnny Mafia and the funk of The Brooks, the electro-disco of nit and the folk-rock of Astral Bakers. You’ll have three days to hunt out new talent (French and foreign) at La Cigale, Les Trois Baudets and La Boule Noire!
