A bucolic hike along the banks of the Loing river
With the aim of helping you discover the most beautiful treasures of Île-de-France we’ve already shared with you a magnificent hike in the footsteps of the Impressionists, and now we’d like to tell you about a beautiful itinerary in the heart of the chevreuse valley. Today, we’re heading for the Seine-et-Marne, to take you on an equally magical journey along the banks of the Loing. Let’s put on our walking shoes and get together just a stone’s throw from Paris!
From Montigny-sur-Loing to Nemours, 12 kilometers of winding Loing banks await you. Just an hour from the hustle and bustle of Paris, you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the area, while contemplating its architectural treasures. Departing from Montigny, your route will take you over the Plaine des Soixante, to Grez sur Loing or near Montcourt-Fromonville, before arriving in Nemours.
Along the way, small hamlets, castles and fields punctuate your walk. South of Moret-sur-Loing a peaceful getaway awaits you. Along the river, look out for all the points of interest along the way. And to reward yourself after those 12 kilometers, why not treat yourself to a little refreshment at a café in Nemours?
It’s up to you! Note that although the route is not a loop, and can be completed in around 3 hours, you can double this time by returning to point A on the way back.
