In the heart of the 2nd arrondissement, a veritable UFO has appeared on the culinary scene. Le Stock, a gourmet project spearheaded by four friends, is the new restaurant that’s getting the neighborhood talking. With its well-kept decor, friendly atmosphere and fine cuisine, this brand-new spot is getting good press thanks to all these attributes. In any case, we went to try out this colorful address to check it out.
New address alert! Why do we love Le Stock in Paris?
Always on the lookout for the capital’s best addresses, our adventures this time took us right up to the door of Le Stock and its minimalist storefront. Once inside, we found ourselves immersed in an incredible ambience, somewhere between a Cycladic house and a seventies boudoir. Alcoves topped with neon lights, velvet banquettes and curiosities picked up left and right: the meticulous work of atelier buissonbuisson and Studio Roseline have contributed to this meticulous, hushed decor. A warm setting, enhanced by the groovy playlist that resonates throughout.
So much for the decor. All that remains is to sit down and embark on a culinary adventure designed by Théo Badalucco. Drawing on his Sicilian origins and his travels, the chef offers a cuisine that is frank and full of character, while drawing on flavors from all over the world. A little curiosity: he uses a Japanese barbecue as a common thread to cook by instinct, lending a pleasant smoky note to his dishes.
While the menu is subject to seasonal change, the recipe remains essentially the same. The first thing you’ll enjoy is the richly crafted starters. Pumpkin fritters, smoked oysters or scallops with black radish: a festival of flavors and textures is orchestrated in our mouths right from the start. Our favorite, however, is the delicious beef tartare with anchovies and croutons.
Next up is the main course, where you can really appreciate the effect of this Japanese barbecue. Pork belly with harissa, guinea fowl with parsnip mousseline or sea bass with baby vegetables: there are a thousand ways to feast at the Stock table, no matter which meat you choose. All that’s left is to punctuate this culinary adventure with a dessert (panna cotta, tiramisu, hazelnut parfait) and we’re not far from the perfect meal. What’s more, we can take advantage of a fine wine list and a selection of cocktails as surprising as they are mysterious.
All in all, it’s up to you to try out this fine Parisian address!
