Among all the hybrid places that are breathing new life into the capital’s urban landscape, one brilliant spot stands out. Journey, with its evolving concept and incredible spaces, will welcome you at any time of day and satisfy your desires, whatever they may be. We invite you to discover this extraordinary place in the heart of Paris’s bustling 2nd arrondissement.
Journey: a good idea from 9.30 a.m. to midnight
At 44 rue des Petits Carreaux, Journey opened nearly a year ago in place of a former store. From the front, you can already appreciate the sheer volume of the spaces, which are organized over 3 floors. Inside, the architecture is raw, almost brutalist, with superb pieces of furniture such as these three-legged wooden chairs. Here, the word “hybrid” already takes on its full meaning, as 4 spaces (on the terrace, in the room, in the basement or upstairs) are available.
In any case, it’s in the dining room that the excitement is felt, particularly behind the counter, where chef Artemio Ganddi officiates on a daily basis. At brunch time, enjoy hot beverages and beautiful plates such as vitello toast, granola or fluffy pancakes. For an aperitif, enjoy plates of charcuterie, dips and cheese. And for a good meal, you can count on a fine menu featuring, for example, beef tataki, trio of tacos, pizzetta cacio e pepe or stuffed portobello. All to be accompanied by a good wine (and the cellar is supplied), a cocktail with pairing or a soft drink.
All in all, a treat, but Journey isn’t just for the food. At the counter, like a coffee shop, you can treat yourself to a tasty hot drink to go. Upstairs, you can take advantage of the calm to telework or study. And in the basement, you’ll discover this incredible space designed as a 60s-style “conversation pit”, a reservable area where you can have a drink and enjoy DJ sets.
Journey is a journey for all the senses. All that’s left for you to do is try it out!
