The weather is sunny and hot, and it’s not about to get any better. Soto avoid suffocating in Paris, we’re taking you right next to the Bois de Vincennes. It’s here, at the Chalet du Lac, that you’ll swap your walking shoes for flip-flops! That’s right—the chalet is once again offering its “Parisian Beach” for the entire summer season, through the end of September. A true little paradise just a stone’s throw from Paris where you can relax all summer long!
A dream beach hidden in a wooded area just a stone’s throw from Paris
For over 120 years, this establishment, situated across from Lake Saint-Mandé, has allowed Parisians to find a bit of cool relief in an absolutely idyllic setting. For the past eight years, every summer through September, a real beach has taken shape beneath the century-old trees of the Bois de Vincennes! Sure, there’s no ocean, but you get a lovely view of the lake (where swimming is prohibited, just a reminder) and, best of all, this spot lets you completely escape the hustle and bustle of Paris.

This year, you’ll find a vast expanse of fine sand covering 1,000 m², as well as lounge chairs where you can relax all day long, a fresh fruit juice (or cocktail) in hand. Soccer fans won’t miss a single goal, thanks to the fan zone set up for the duration of the tournament! You’ll be able to cheer on Les Bleues with your feet in the sand—without having to head down to the south of France! And of course, a summer menu will be available: mezze to share, perfectly balanced cocktails…

However, when it comes to prices, this little paradise clearly comes at a cost. To rent a double lounge chair, expect to pay 45€ for a half-day and 80€ for a full day. Single lounge chairs are available for 15€ for a half-day and 25€ for a full day. Note that towels are included with each of these packages. The price of a getaway? Perhaps! In any case, this little slice of paradise is open all summer long, through the end of September.
