With the warm weather still in full swing, the opportunity to take a short little hike comes at just the right time. By the way, did you know that there’s a 50-kilometer hiking trail that lets you discover Paris from every angle? As part of the plan to support the bid for the Olympic Games the GR 2024 has been designed to offer you a walk along the Little Belt.
A giant hiking trail to discover Paris
Since 2017, the first 100% Parisian long-distance hiking trail has been inaugurated, making it possible to enjoy a real stroll over 50 kilometers without leaving the capital. The GR 2024, also known as the GR 75, will take you through the capital’s 9 outlying arrondissements, crossing the path of the 7 existing GRs within Paris itself.
The 50-kilometre loop takes you through 70 green spaces scattered around the capital. In addition to the Bois de Boulogne and Bois de Vincennes, the route takes in Parc Kellerman, Parc André Citroën and Parc Martin Luther King. It’s a truly beautiful and bucolic escape that awaits you, and will take you far away from the urban hustle and bustle.
For the more adventurous, you can start the itinerary anywhere and do the whole loop, but the traditional route starts in the Parc de la Villette, at the foot of the the Géode in a clockwise direction. The route is also divided into 13 sections of 4 kilometers each, so that everyone can go at their own pace. Finally, to find your way around, simply follow the two horizontal lines of red and white. It’s up to you!
