After Yayoi Kusama’s giant statue and Takashi Murakami’s golden flower, a new monumental work of art decorates the bays of Paris. On the facade of the recently reopened Grand Palais, an XXL ladder by Paola Pivi has been installed, leaving passers-by in awe!
A colorful XXL work to adorn the Grand Palais this summer
Reopened to the general public just a few weeks ago after several years of renovation, the Grand Palais has already graced us with a few surprises. After unveiling a new restaurant inspired by the Belle Époque, the cultural center has now surprised us with a colorful inflatable work, transforming its face for the summer. And yes, the tens of meters high ladder will remain in place until September 7!

Originally conceived for the Echigo-Tsumari triennial, this work by Italian artist Paula Pivi is making a stopover in Paris, on the façade of one of its most famous museums. It creates an intriguing contrast with the architecture of the Grand Palais, and a real curiosity for the many passers-by who pass in front of the institution every day. The installation is also part of Euphoria, a 4,000-square-meter exhibition showcasing the “art of inflatables” and balloons.
So, if you’re planning a cultural outing to the Grand Palais, here’s one more curiosity for you to discover. What’s more, the current headliner is a fine retrospective on Niki de Saint-Phalle and Jean Tinguely!
