Christmas tree 2023: “The Christmas of my dreams” at Galeries Lafayette
This year, Galeries Lafayette is teaming up with designer Charles de Vilmorin. From the window displays to the big Galeries tree, the couturier, stylist and designer has dreamed up a surreal universe. He drew his inspiration from the psychedelic worlds of Tim Burton and Salvador Dalí. Taking pride of place under the majestic dome of Galeries Lafayette, the XXL tree undergoes a new metamorphosis this year. Between fashion and children’s dreams, Charles de Vilmorin takes you into the Christmas of his dreams.
2022: the “Planet Fir” tale at Galeries Lafayette
This year, Galeries Lafayette Haussmann invites you to the “Planète Sapin” expedition , a unique immersive experience. Decked out in green and blue and topped with a faceted ball, the 2022 fir tree invites you to another planet. Named Nordmann, the majestic tree is adorned with earthly objects. Every 30 minutes, the lights go out to make way for a magical sound and light show, where the trees come to life.
2021 : “1,2,3… Christmas” with an astronaut Santa Claus
In 2021, Galeries Lafayette’s fairytale Christmas tree was adorned with toys. A masterly Christmas tree, featuring a mischievous rabbit. Under the majestic dome of the department store, an astronaut Santa whirled around. Every 30 minutes, a sound and light animation brought the toys to life, as if by magic.
2020: “Le voyage de Noël” at Galeries Lafayette
In 2020, Galeries Lafayette paid tribute to aviator Jules Védrines, who landed on the roof of the department store in 1919. Under the dome, visitors discovered an immense multicolored Christmas tree. For this “Voyage de Noël”, young and old alike enjoyed the festive season in the company of the explorer Céleste, inviting them aboard her plane to imaginary lands.
2019: the Galeries Lafayette Christmas beehive
When it comes to grandiosity, Galeries Lafayette are queens. Queen bees? Perhaps… Because in 2019, they were transformed into a Christmas beehive. Under the majestic dome, a huge Christmas tree topped with baubles and winter flowers was overlooked by the Queen Bee. Every 30 minutes, under the flight of her hard-working bees, the illuminated tree came to life. A Christmas beehive that went b(u)zzzz!
2017: a magical Christmas tree, adorned with delicacies
It’s one of our favorite Christmas trees at Paris Secret! In 2017, Galeries Lafayette unveiled a tree adorned with gourmandises, similar to a huge cake. Spectacular, the tree was surrounded by a myriad of balloons and giant sweets, delighting sweet-lovers!
