And if your Fête de la Musique took a street art turn? From June 21 to 23, a festival called À la croisée des arts will take over Village Reille in the heart of the 14th arrondissement and promises an unusual encounter combining street art and music. The little extra? This event is free of charge, and will take place in a highly unusual location, none other than a chapel. Mark your calendars!
A chapel hosts a weekend of exhibitions and concerts
Whenever street art is mentioned in Paris, the crowds turn out in force. After an xXL exhibition dedicated to Seth or the transformation of an entire bar into a temple of street art, a new event dedicated to street art is on the horizon in Paris. This summer, to celebrate the Fête de la Musique, the Five Monkeys association is taking over the Jeanne d’Arc chapel, right in the heart of Village Reille, and promising us a festival unlike any other in Paris.
With free access, you can stroll through the chapel and admire the work of both established and emerging street artists. Guests include Sax, Totoc, Petite Poissone, Raf Urban, Carol B. and Tegmo. After a vernissage on Friday June 21 at 5pm, the ephemeral exhibition will be on view all weekend.
On the entertainment front, and since music is what we’re celebrating this weekend, the three days will be punctuated by joyful concerts, jam sessions and shows. Another highlight of “à la croisée des arts” is live painting sessions on Saturdays and Sundays.
In short, lovers of art and music will be able to combine their passions at this colorful event. All that’s left is to wait!
