Cycling in Paris is great! But let’s face it, with kids, it’s immediately a bit more complicated. Fortunately, there are some really fun family itineraries that allow you to discover Paris in a whole new way. Here are our favorites!
Family cycling in the Bois de Vincennes
The Bois de Vincennes is the place to be if you’re looking for a family outing in Paris. It’s also the perfect place for family cycling in a superb natural setting. You’ll be able to pedal over 995 hectares and enjoy the lungs of eastern Paris.

To Lac de Daumesnil via the “coulée verte
For a lovely hour’s ride, head for the start of the coulée verte René-Dumont in the 12th arrondissement. After carrying your bikes up the staircase leading to the old train lines, you can continue your ride to the Daumesnil metro stop and enjoy the view from the allée Vivaldi suspension bridge, before circling Lac Daumesnil.
The Canal de l’Ourcq and its wide cycle path for family cycling
The Canal de l’Ourcq is a great place in Paris for boating, but also for cycling! The cycle path, which stretches for over 100 km, gives you a lovely view of the bridges, locks and landscape around the canal. You can also stop off at remarkable viewpoints, such as Parc de la Poudrerie, where children can enjoy tree climbing and zip-lining.

The banks of the Seine, for a beautiful stroll along the river
If you really want to avoid Paris’s heavy traffic, the banks of the Seine are perfect for you. The bike path, which is flat and without any gradients, will take you around the Seine and give you the best views of Paris. The route starts at the Eiffel Tower and ends at Ile Saint-Louis, close to Notre-Dame.

Parc des Buttes Chaumont, one of the best places in Paris for a family bike ride
It’s true that the Parc des Buttes Chaumont has something extra that the others don’t have. We love going there to run, picnic and, of course, bike! You can rent a bike on site or bring your own.
The iconic Jardin des Tuileries
This beautiful garden near the Louvre and not far from the Place de la Concorde will be perfect for your bike rides in Paris. You’ll see its lovely fountain, and can enjoy its play areas with the whole family. A must-see park in Paris!

In the immense Parc de la Villette
This long 20 km track is a pleasure to walk when the weather’s fine. Practicable all year round, it allows you to cross the park and admire its most beautiful spots in complete peace and quiet. And if you feel like it, why not follow it up with a movie at the Géode?
