More than 1,400 cooling stations to discover throughout the capital
While we can’t do anything to change the weather, we can try to combat its effects! The City of Paris has identified more than 1,400 cooling spots all over the city! For example, there are 1,300 water stations where you can quench your thirst, such as Wallace fountains or fountains with misters.
The city’s 547 green spaces— more than 140 of which are open all night—are ranked by vegetation density (and thus shade coverage)! Finally, the map doesn’t forget the city’s 42 indoor and outdoor pools to really cool you off! For those on a tight budget, there are free swimming areas in the Seine, as well as— more recently—in the Canal Saint-Martin.
The map also lists places where you can find some relief from the heat. These include churches, museums, and air-conditioned libraries… We hope this map will give you some ideas for staying cool this week!
