Every year, the Journées du Patrimoine are the perfect opportunity to discover or rediscover the behind-the-scenes of Paris’s parisian cultural life. This year, they’ll be back on September 21 and 22, and as always, they’ll be opening the doors of numerous institutions, from the most renowned to the most secretive. And of all these visits, the discovery of the famous Station Cinéma is certainly one of the most eagerly awaited. On an exceptional day, a few lucky visitors will be able to slip into this secret filming location and discover what goes on behind the scenes.
RATP offers a journey through its network to discover its heritage. There’s plenty to do along the Parisian rail network, with events, experiences and tours. And with this visit to the Station Cinéma, we’re opening up a totally unusual side of society. Although the Porte des Lilas station has been closed to the public since 1939, it is a favorite with film-makers for recreating the atmosphere of the Paris metro. Every day, thousands of travelers pass through Porte des Lilas station, unaware that another station serves as a movie set, where many films, TV series and music videos are shot.
