There’s no shortage of open-air cinemas in Paris in summer . And here’s another not to be missed! The Palais Galliera, Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris, is transforming its main courtyard into an open-air cinema. For three exceptional evenings, enjoy a unique atmosphere. On the program: films chosen by fashion icon Rick Owens, and the chance to visit his major retrospective exhibition Temple of Love.
Palais Galliera : A majestic setting in the heart of the 16th arrondissement
The Palais Galliera is the perfect setting for this festival. Just a stone’s throw from the Trocadéro, the Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris boasts an impressive neo-Renaissance architecture. Its majestic facade and gardens always make an impression. For this event, its main courtyard is transformed into an intimate cinema under the stars. Imagine yourself comfortably seated, surrounded by centuries-old stonework, facing a giant screen and lulled by the softness of a September night…
The Rick Owens, Temple of Love exhibition
Before settling in for the screening, the public is also invited to discover the event exhibition dedicated to Rick Owens, on view until January 4, 2026. More than a retrospective, it’s a veritable immersion in the world of this iconoclastic designer. Over 100 silhouettes are on display. Rare documents, monumental installations and even concrete sculptures installed in the garden complete the picture. Rick Owens himself designed the staging. And we can tell you that one of the pieces lives up to his reputation as a provocateur. Rick Owens also signs the artistic direction of the open-air film festival: in other words, the fashion world and 7ᵉ art meet here in an unprecedented creative dialogue.

Three evenings of open-air cinema at the Musée de la Mode
Rendezvous from September 4 to 6, 2025 for these three exceptional evenings when each film has been chosen to resonate with the aesthetic and cultural universe of Rick Owens.
- Thursday, September 4: Queendom (2025), a hard-hitting documentary that follows the journey of Gena Marvin, a young Russian queer artist who uses her performances as a weapon of resistance.
- Friday, September 5: The Black Cat (1934), a dark, hypnotic horror classic starring Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi.
- Saturday, September 6: The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), an extravagant and gleefully subversive cult musical that continues to thrill audiences fifty years after its release.
As an added bonus, each screening begins withan introduction by a specialist, to enrich your knowledge. Then it’s on to the big screen… On site, you’ll be able to nibble popcorn, have a drink and share a convivial moment in the open air. As you’ll have gathered, the atmosphere is just like in a small local cinema. Be warned, however, that screenings are weather-dependent, so keep your fingers crossed.
