The Musée Guimet once again offers a rich and unique program of events to celebrate Asian arts. To celebrate Halloween, we’ve got a date with J-Horror, a celebration of Japanese horror cinema. So if you want to combine culture and thrills, here’s a great idea for a night out on October 31. And it’s free for under-26s!
A Japanese horror film festival for Halloween
Whether it’s a terrifying escape game, a magical tea time or a parade of Disney villains, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to celebrating Halloween in Paris in 2024. But for a cultural outing off the beaten track, you’ll have to head to the 16th arrondissement, and more specifically to the Musée Guimet. With its J-Horror Day, no fewer than four Japanese horror films, including one never before seen in France, will be shown in the museum’s auditorium.
Starting at 1pm, you can thrill to Hideo Nakata ‘s Dark Water , before watching Yoshimasa Ishibashi ‘s Six Singing Women , shown for the first time in France. The horror day continues with the screening of Shin’ichirô Ueda ‘s Ne coupez pas , and closes with Hideo Nakata ‘s legendary Ring !
A great way to celebrate this end-of-October holiday, but Halloween also means costumes and masquerade costume! So, to get in step with the times, you can – and will – be invited to don your best gear, as the museum is also organizing a cosplay contest! The 5 most creative costumes will be rewarded!
It’s up to you!
