You’d love to be able to take your knitting to the movies, but
Special screenings for knitters and knitting enthusiasts
Are you so passionate about knitting or crochet that you knit everywhere, all the time? Are you the person who takes your knitting out of class and knits in transit? The one who doesn’t hesitate to get out her crocheting needles in the coffee shop, while carrying on a conversation, that’s you too? Another sure sign is that you’ve got a ball of yarn and needles tattooed on your body!
Do you knit every day and dream of being able to live out your passion in as many places as possible? A Parisian cinema has heard your prayers and recently launched a ciné-club, Ciné-mailles, dedicated to knitters and knitting lovers!
Ciné-mailles, the knitting ciné-club at the Studio des Ursulines
Knit purl, knit purl, knit purl and then cast-off: in this cinema, you won’t be looked at sideways if you take out your sweater while you’re knitting – quite the opposite, in fact! A cinema in the 5th arrondissement, the Studio des Ursulines, has teamed up with the Club Crochet Tricot Paris, Ciné-Mailles, to launch special knitting sessions!
With just the right amount of light in the room, and a film shown in French so you can keep an eye on your needles rather than the subtitles, these screenings will satisfy fervent knitters and cinephiles alike! For purists of the original version, there’s even a VOST screening dedicated to them!
After Shrek, Chihiro’s Journey and Mr. Jack’s Strange Christmas, Greta Gerwig’s Daughters of Doctor March will be shown on February 26, 27 and 28, 2025.
📍 Location: 10, rue des Ursulines, 75005 Paris
📆 Date: three sessions per month
🎟️ Price: €6.80 on site / €7.20 online
