Remember. At the end of December, a Louis Vuitton carrousel was set up on the chic Place Vendôme for the festive season. But with spring just around the corner, the LV-branded carrousel is getting a makeover. Here’s where to find it this weekend, and practical information. Ready to make your little ones’ heads spin?
The most haute couture of carousels returns to the City of Light. But where?
After literally lighting up the Place Vendôme, the Louis Vuitton Carrousel returns to Paris this Saturday, March 22. This time, it takes place in the heart of a place beloved by children. It’s the only amusement park in Paris, and you’ll no doubt recognize it: the Jardin d’Acclimatation. After taking a ride on La Rivière Enchantée, climbing aboard Les Grenouilles, or experiencing the 360° Jurassic Island adventure, why not climb aboard one of the wooden animals on the LV carousel?
Its design? An echo of the 1900 Universal Exhibition
You may not have known it, but the Louis Vuitton carrousel was created a few years ago by the brand to create a family-related experience, while remaining true to its heritage. The essence of its carrousel design? To recall the genesis of the great luxury House, with a scenography echoing the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition, which was a turning point in the history of the luxury House. At this major Parisian event, the son of founder Georges Vuitton presented a gilded merry-go-round, with blue velvet ornaments and curtains. A sumptuous decor, to sublimate his beautiful LV cases and other travel items, housed under the carrousel.
Climb aboard the Louis Vuitton carousel
And to set itself apart from traditional wooden horses, Louis Vuitton has created a veritable bestiary for its carrousel, full of fantasy. Will children ride an ostrich, a gazelle, a giraffe, a snail, a cow or a leopard? Will adults be content to admire these sculpted creatures, all engraved with the famous Louis Vuitton Monogram? Or perhaps they’ll decide to fall back into childhood, who knows?
