A highlight of the summer season, l’Été du Canal installs its joyful, cultural, all-ages program at the start of the summer vacations! Enjoy free or low-cost activities in Paris and Seine Saint-Denis!
L’Été du Canal, the canal-side festival
Summer in Paris wouldn’t have the same flavour without its flagship events! The Été du Canal is one of these, taking place every year in the north and northeast of Paris and in Seine Saint-Denis! Like the more high-profile Paris Plages, l’Été du Canal has chosen to plant its events along the water’s edge, around the Bassin de la Villette, on the banks of the Canal de l’Ourcq, the Canal Saint-Denis and all the way to the northern loop of the Seine!

Over the course of several weeks, this event offers a wide range of cultural, sporting and entertainment activities, as well as convivial moments! An event that’s all the more unmissable for its free or low-cost activities!
Want to enjoy the Parisian atmosphere this summer with a touch of originality? Head for the canals of Paris!
A program of free and reduced-price events
From early July onwards, you’ll be able to make the capital’s canals your own, with a host of exciting, multi-disciplinary events!
Canal en Pagaies kicks off the festivities. This Saturday, take a kayak, canoe or paddle on the Canal de l’Ourcq between Sevran and Pantin for a unique 10 km trip on the water!

Another not-to-be-missed event takes place on July 20! Over 15 km, the Grande marche Héritage olympique will plunge you back into the atmosphere of the Paris 2024 Olympics, with a route linking the emblematic sites of the competition! Cultural, artistic and gourmet events are planned throughout the walk!
And there’s so much more to do until the end of the event on August 10, including the Radio Nova Ball in Saint-Ouen, an electro boom, a circus show by SHAM, a “Masala – India and its spices” culinary workshop, themed cruises(street art, wine, art…), water parks, concerts…
