Of the 10,000 bars in central Paris, it’s hard to choose just 10! But it’s done. After our top cheap beer bars here are our favorite bars in Châtelet, just for you!
L’Entracte
A rich history written in centuries, l’Entracte is quite simply the oldest bar in Paris! Open since 1614, it is a veritable landmark in Châtelet. Today, you can sit down to share a charcuterie board, have a drink and enjoy the terrace when the weather’s nice.
L’Entracte – 47, rue de Montpensier, 75001
Experimental cocktail club
We come here to drink a really good cocktail. Not a quickie mix from a run-of-the-mill bar, but the creation of experienced mixologists who reinvent cocktails with rare spirits, freshly squeezed fruit juices and unusual spices. All set in a rich Baroque décor that lends a soft, intimate ambience to the venue. In short, the ideal place to get away from it all!
Experimental cocktail club- 37 Rue Saint-Sauveur, 75002
Andy Wahloo – Châtelet’s popiest bar
Andy Wahloo is all about eclectic decor! Here, we dive between pop art (for Andy) and Moroccan resto (for wahloo), resulting in a cosy little bar decorated with oriental rugs, brightly-colored sofas, mint tea and 70’s furniture in a well-preserved former mansion. We love the courtyard, which is particularly pleasant in summer!
Andy Wahloo – 69 Rue des Gravilliers, 75003
Le Maze
More chic, Le Maze offers top-quality cocktails, created by mixologist Ousseyne Soumah, who trained at at Fouquet’s and largely inspired by Asian spirits. This former hostessbar welcomes you in an electro-chill atmosphere, a passe-partout in short !
Le Maze – 13 Rue Tiquetonne, 75002
Le Piment Café
Price alert! From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., a pint of Melbrau costs 3.50 euros, a white pint 4 euros and a Guinness 4.50 euros! All this in an extremely heterogeneous bar, with a mix of regulars, cybercafés for tourists and curious visitors!
Le Piment Café- 15 Rue de Sévigné, 75004 Paris
Le Cœur Fou
From the typography to the decor and the cocktails, the Cœur Fou is everything that’s bobo… and that’s how we like it! We love its chill, young-cadre-dynamic atmosphere, its uncluttered decor and intimate corners, its little Parisian terrace and its always well-chosen music.
Le Cœur Fou – 55 Rue Montmartre, 75002 Paris
Le Max Bar
If you’ve ever been on a bar crawl in Châtelet, it’s impossible not to have heard of Max Bar. An ultra-classic bar, between vino and mixed planks, which also organizes blind-tests! Ready to win it all?
Le Max Bar – 6 Rue de la Petite Truanderie, 75001
Last bar before the end of the world
Le Dernier Bar avant la Fin du Monde is the first space for the expression of imaginary cultures in the heart of Paris, a stone’s throw from the Théâtre du Châtelet. It’s a 400 m² bar designed by fans of science fiction, fantasy, manga, TV series, cinema and fantasy literature. Here you can read, have a drink, play games, eat and share your passion for imaginary cultures.
Dernier bar avant la fin du monde – 19 avenue Victoria 75001
Le Fumoir
Le Fumoir is a café, tea room, restaurant and cocktail bar in one. The wood-panelled bar is perfect if you’re looking for a hushed, jazzy atmosphere, or a sunny terrace with a view (of the Louvre!).
Le Fumoir – 6 Rue de l’Amiral de Coligny, 75001
Le Café Noir
Café Noir is an institution for everyone. We take a seat at his huge counter to down a little binouze, catch up on old times and nibble on the typical. Although it may seem frozen in time, the Café Noir never ceases to surprise: on weekends, DJs set up in a small corner mix electro or funk sets. Ready to push the tables? You’re going to dance!
