As with the road cycling event at the Paris Olympics, the Tour de France riders will tackle the Butte Montmartre for a historic final stage at the end of July. We tell you everything you need to know to experience this future sporting highlight of the year!
Tour de France: everything you need to know about this already legendary final stage

As we announced back in April, when the official route was announced, the Tour de France will reach its epilogue in Paris on July 27. But before the traditional finish on the Champs-Élysées, the riders will set off to climb the Butte Montmartre, for an extraordinary finale! Following on from the Mûr-de-Bretagne double, the Col de la Loze and Mont Ventoux, this is another unmissable stage that will bring the Grande Boucle to a close in 2025.
Date, route and timetable
The final stage between Mantes-la-Jolie and the Champs-Élysées takes place on July 27. The riders will cross the Yvelines, passing through Versailles and Issy-les-Moulineaux before arriving in the capital. After skirting the Seine and crossing the Champs-Élysées several times, they will make their famous passage to Montmartre, for three crazy climbs. According to estimates on the Tour’s official website, the finish on the Butte is scheduled for around 6pm.

Where to watch the riders go by?
With this dream finish, there are several options available to ensure you don’t miss out on the show, provided you arrive early! To watch the start of the climb, you can opt for the bottom of rue Lepic, which offers a good view of the slope. Rue Lamarck and Rue Caulaincourt are also good options, as they include a sprint zone. Last but not least, for a postcard-perfect view, you could opt for a position at the bottom of Sacré-Coeur, but places are likely to be expensive!
In any case, the watchword will be to arrive early, in the morning, both to anticipate the reduced traffic in the area, but also and above all to secure the best places!
