A Victorian mansion on the outskirts of Paris
Abandoned for over 50 years, this stunning manor house is sure to leave a lasting impression. Known as the Colimaçon Manor or the Joachim Kroll Manor, it blends two architectural styles—Art Nouveau and Victorian—giving it an immediately striking, almost theatrical appearance. It features magnificent details, such as floral ornaments whose colors have been weathered by time, bearing witness to the home’s old-world charm.

Located right in the middle of the fields, you’ll feel as if you’re truly cut off from the world…. And that’s exactly the case, because for half a century, this grand mansion with more than 30 rooms has been completely uninhabited. The last residents were a wealthy Iranian family, but since then, it has been deserted… to the point where you can still find period furniture, mirrors, and a few decorative trinkets scattered throughout. Prized for its numerous ornaments, old tapestries, and Tim Burton-esque charm, the mansion is also known for its immense spiral staircase. The true backbone of the building, it connects every floor all the way up to the tower and is often photographed by urban exploration enthusiasts from every angle…
Shrouded in mystery, the Joachim Kroll Mansion is also the source of many rumors, some of them quite sordid… Some claim it was the scene oftwo terrifyingand dramaticmurders. So, can we call it a haunted house?
It’s truethat with its spectacular appearance, straight out of a horror movie, you might well believe it! In any case, we’re not going to risk setting foot inside! Be warned: although it remains abandoned to this day, the mansion is private property. Access is strictly prohibited and could even be dangerous, given the dilapidated state of the premises…
