On November 22, the most beautiful avenue in the world will be aglow with a thousand lights for the holidays. And Australian actress Cate Blanchett, patron of the 2026 edition, will kick off the Illuminations. A sound-and-light show, which will be accompanied by the return of the Christmas market.
Champs-Élysées Illuminations: The Full Program

This year, the Champs-Élysées will once again dazzle you during the holiday season. Starting November 22, a brand-new five-minute sound-and-light show will take place every evening. Three scenes will unfold before your eyes in this new edition: “The Awakening of Nature,” “The Arrival of Winter,” and “The Starry Night.” Each scene will be accompanied by Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” reimagined by Max Richter.
For this new edition, the avenue’s 400 trees will be adorned with 560,000 programmable pixels, distributed evenly. And to avoid excessive energy consumption, the same string lights will be used for five years, following annual maintenance.
The Return of the Champs-Élysées Christmas Market
This year’s illuminations take on a whole new flavor, as they coincide with the opening of the Champs-Élysées market. Open through January 4 and featuring 200 chalets set up along the Champs-Élysées gardens, this marks the market’s return after a 10-year hiatus. On the agenda: jewelry, home decor, toys, the “Made in Paris” artisan market, and gourmet specialties will be there to delight you. In short, plenty of opportunities to find a nice gift to slip under the tree.
