As part of the Art Basel Paris 2024“hors les murs” program, Belgian artist Carsten Höller has been invited to exhibit one of his monumental works in the heart of Paris. Once again, the Place Vendôme will be the scene of a truly open-air exhibition, for over a month. From October 15 onwards, visitors will be able to contemplate the artist ‘sGiant Triple Mushroom and rediscover this transformed part of Paris.
A monumental work soon to be installed on Place Vendôme
After last year’s metal dragon and giant wave, Place Vendôme will once again be the beating heart of Art Basel, with a monumental work of art. Like Yayoi Kusama’s giant pumpkin at the foot of the Grand Palais, the work positioned on the square will be part of the public program orchestrated by the international fair. It will therefore be possible to admire it free of charge throughout the event, and even afterwards.
From October 15 to November 24, the heart of Paris will be animated by an XXL sculpture. Long kept secret, the name of the artist who will have the honor of gracing the legendary square has finally surfaced. For a little over a month, we’ll be able to admire the crazy world of Carsten Höller. A three-metre-high sculpture will emerge from the ground, combining three types of recomposed mushrooms. It’s a monumental work that’s sure to surprise more than a few passers-by.
We look forward to seeing you on October 15!
