Every year, Uber, France’s leading VTC platform, unveils its rankings based on user ratings in major French cities. And even if Parisians “behave better” than last year, they still come last in terms of grades. Arrogance, bad manners, punctuality: why are Parisians (unsurprisingly) the worst performers in this study?
Parisians, France’s worst Uber passengers
An internal Uber study, recently unveiled and carried out annually, ranks the inhabitants of 29 major cities according to the grade given to them on average at the end of their journey. It’s well known that Parisians don’t get much press in general, but this ranking confirms their bad reputation. In fact, the capital simply ranks last!
The ranking in detail
- Troyes, Limoges – 4.97 stars
- Avignon, Perpignan – 4.96 stars
- Poitiers, Tours – 4.95 stars
- Mulhouse, Dijon, Toulon – 4.94 stars
- Orléans, Strasbourg – 4.93 stars
- Rennes, Nantes, Rouen, Montpellier – 4.92 stars
- Nancy, Annecy, Clermont-Ferrand – 4.91 stars
- Lille, Nice, Angers, Reims, Marseille – 4.9 stars
- Lyon, Toulouse – 4.89 stars
- Bordeaux, Grenoble, Amiens 4.88 stars
- Paris – 4.84
And if drivers apply the “apart from problems, it’s 5 automatic stars” rule, Parisians receive an average rating of 4.84. Conversely, the cities of Troyes and Limoges get the highest ratings, with 4.97. So what justifies such a high ranking? The drivers interviewed often come back to the same reasons: some Parisians are arrogant, impatient and sometimes rude, barely earning a “bonjour” if we are to believe a few testimonials.
With a little goodwill, maybe Parisians will move up the rankings a bit more next year!
