It’s not every day that you can have lunch facing Notre-Dame while being served directly by winemakers. On June 13 and 14, 2026, the Quai de la Tournelle will host a unique event called Le Banquai des Vins Rouges de Loire, a grand culinary gathering conceived as a tribute to the traditional winemakers’ banquets of the Loire.
A giant banquet on the banks of the Seine
Set along the banks of the Seine, the long tables will face Notre-Dame Cathedral, on a quay whose history is closely tied to the wine trade. For centuries, boats from the provinces unloaded their cargo there before it was distributed throughout the capital.
For this event, the organizers have planned two truly festive lunches where guests can take the time to eat, chat, and discover the wines directly from the producers themselves. Around a hundred winemakers will make the trip from the Loire Valley to personally serve their wines to the guests.
Eight major appellations will be represented: Chinon, Bourgueil, Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, Saumur, Saumur-Champigny, Saumur Puy-Notre-Dame, Anjou, and Touraine. It’s an opportunity to explore a large part of the Loire Valley vineyards without leaving Paris.
To accompany the tastings, Tours-based chef Paul Delhommais, head of the restaurant Miettes, has created a menu specially designed for the event. Each lunch will include a starter, a main course, cheese, and dessert, with a vegetarian option available. Four glasses of Loire red wines will also be served during the meal.
Beyond the culinary aspect, the Banquai also aims to highlight a region. Today, nearly 85% of Loire wines are committed to organic farming or environmental certification, making the region one of the French wine regions most dedicated to these issues.
In short, a friendly, accessible event focused on sharing. A gourmet interlude that promises a lovely time on the Parisian quays for a weekend.
