Between culture, sharing, and love: on Monday, January 19, 2026, on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower, the major players in the City of Paris took the floor to announce to their partners and journalists the highlights of this new year in the capital. So what does 2026 have in store for us in the City of Light? Recreating a sense of community after the 2024 Paris Olympics, bringing the city to life and putting emotion back at the heart of the Parisian experience… not to mention La Nuit Blanche, one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year.
Nuit Blanche 2026: a night of love that brings people together
This is the highlight of the evening. The moment when DJ and activist Barbara Butch, artistic director of Nuit Blanche, takes the stage to talk about the theme of the 2026 edition: love. The kind of love that brings people together and unites them. A love capable of breaking down barriers and bringing all generations together.
A collective work of love, senior majorettes… Nuit Blanche 2026 promises to be an edition like no other.

And this year, Nuit Blanche will not begin in the capital. For the occasion, a 6-meter-long boat, decorated with the coat of arms of Paris, will depart from the south of France to reach the capital. Eight weeks of sailing, and at each stage, encounters with local artists, interviews, testimonials, and works collected along the way. The final destination will be the Canal de l’Ourcq, where an art installation will take shape, inspired by all these travel stories from across our beloved France.
This journey across France was not conceived by chance. It reflects a reality: most Parisians were not born in Paris. They often come here for work, but also because the capital symbolizes openness, diversity, freedom, and the possibility of seeing and dreaming bigger. Nuit Blanche fully embraces this narrative dimension: Paris as a gathering place.
Celebrating and saying “I love you” to live better together

In her speech, Barbara Butch, who describes herself as a “love activist,” gives us an exclusive preview of the crazy creations of this 2026 edition of Nuit Blanche. The program includes a show by majorettes from Montpellier, all aged between 65 and 85, who will travel across France to perform in Paris. A joyful and unexpected image, reflecting the spirit of Nuit Blanche.
Barbara Butch has announced that she will be taking over a famous Parisian swimming pool for an exceptional installation. The Saint-Louis Hospital could well host monumental light installations, while Parisians will be able to take part in this Nuit Blanche in their own way. For the occasion, they will be able to leave their wishes and messages of love via a dedicated line, and the messages will then be incorporated into a collective work. This year, in addition to being spectators, culture lovers will become actors, adding their own contribution to the event.
“The party never stops. It starts now.”

This is the theme of this Nuit Blanche: inviting Parisians to say they love each other, in front of the camera, in a deeply symbolic way, to recreate bonds and bring a little sweetness back into the public space. For one night, a more peaceful world takes shape. A party, a joyful celebration, but also and above all, one full of meaning. As the artistic director sums up in her closing remarks: “The party never stops. It starts now.” Now is Saturday, June 6, 2026, for this Nuit Blanche that promises to be filled with love, a little, a lot, madly, passionately.
