It’s a fact: Parisians love dogs! So much so that Paris is said to be the city with the highest density of dogs per square kilometer in the world: 300,000 dogs on 105 km² to be precise. Adopting a dog means adopting its lifestyle and accepting to go outside more often for its well-being. Yes, but the catch is that not all parks accept dogs! So where can you take your beloved pooch for a walk in Paris? Discover all our favourite itineraries!
At Parc Monceau, on a leash and only on concrete areas
This lovely 8-hectare park is equally enjoyable for joggers and picnickers. If you have a dog, it’s perfectly possible to walk it here. Please note, however, that dogs must be kept on a leash and are not allowed on the lawn. You can take them for a walk along the allées Ferdousi and Comtesse-de-Ségur.
Bois de Boulogne, the dog’s favourite playground
The Bois de Boulogne is quite simply a favorite playground for dogs and their owners. Located in the 16ᵉ arrondissement, it will offer you 846 hectares on the banks of the Seine. You can walk your dog with or without a leash in two areas: the Longchamps lawn in the north-central part of the park, and the Esperance lawn to the south. Dog games are available to keep you and your dog entertained.

The Bois de Vincennes, ideal for walking your dog off-leash
The Bois de Vincennes is the capital’s largest green space. Located in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, the park extends over 995 hectares of greenery! It’s the perfect place to take your pooch off-leash in Paris! Two caniparks, located between the racecourse and INSEP, are planned for this purpose. An added bonus: a number of games have been set up for your dog and his four-legged friends to let off steam.
🐕 Rte de la Pyramide, 75012 Paris
Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, a beautiful park to walk your dog in Paris
This former open-air quarry in the 19th arrondissement is a pleasant green spot for your dog. Once you’re on a leash, you’ll be able to explore the 25 hectares of parkland together: a lake, a grotto, a waterfall… Please note that your beloved pooch is not allowed on the lawns.
The Luxembourg Gardens, an elegant green space for your pooch
You may not have known it, but the Jardin du Luxembourg, as chic as it is, allows dogs on its grounds. You can stroll along the edge of the park, as well as the historic paths between rue Auguste-Comte and boulevard Saint-Michel. Your dog must always be kept on a leash and avoid green spaces where it is not allowed. An opportunity to visit the Latin Quarter and enjoy Paris’s sixth arrondissement.

Ile de la Jatte, the ideal spot to walk your dog in total freedom
The Ile de la Jatte is home to a totally secure caniparc, where you can let your dog run free with his friends. We go there to introduce him to other friends, play with him, and why not take him for a walk along the waterfront when it’s too hot. The park has everything you need to make your outing a success: bag dispensers, water fountains… Something tells us you’ll love going there!

The Ranelagh garden on the inner ring road
This Little Belt nugget is a great place to take your beloved dog for a walk. The canipark is large and fenced, so he can stretch his legs without a leash. You can also walk him on a leash along the park’s paths. A great place for a pleasant stroll!
