While Haussmann-style buildings may be the epitome of chic for many, in the summer, with the sweltering heat, they’re hardly a dream come true! So to escape the stifling heat, we’ve found you a wonderful island, surrounded by nature, where you can go for a swim!
The Boucles de Seine Recreational Island is a wonderful place that offers a complete change of scenery. There you’ll find a huge 120-hectare lake where you can, of course, go swimming, but also enjoy sports activities like sailing, catamaran sailing, canoeing, or even paddleboating… And with that cool, crystal-clear water, we might as well tell you right now: you’ll never want to leave this place!
If you do manage to get out of the water, this recreational island offers a whole host of activities, such as a beautiful hiking trail along the lake, a golf course, archery, and even an orienteering course in the heart of nature!
Please note that due to the extreme heat, the swimming area will be open on an exceptional basis this Wednesday, June 24 , from 11:30 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. Swimming will then be available daily from July 1 through August 30. Lifeguards are on duty from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in an area marked by buoys, and admission costs about 5 euros per person.
