As you know, since this week, an icy wind has been blowing across the capital! According to forecasts by MétéoFrance, the sudden drop in temperature we’ve been experiencing since Monday is due to a maritime polar current from north-western Europe. In northern France, temperatures have not exceeded 5 degrees this week… And as a polar wind never comes alone, the first snowflakes are expected to fall this Thursday and over the weekend. We explain!
Snow in Paris?

Yes, it’s the big question of the moment: will it snow this week in Paris? With the bitter cold of recent days, it’s a legitimate question. Well, according to Météo France, the first snowflakes could well fall as early as this Thursday in the lowlands:
“From the Hauts-de-France to the Swiss and German borders, snow could fall as far as the plains, in the form of showers, particularly in the Grand Est, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and the north of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes,” explains Météo France.

The snow is likely to be mixed with rain, and will certainly not be dense enough to last for several days. Flakes are expected to appear on Thursday afternoon and into the late afternoon. According to Météo France, Roissy, Versailles and Fontainebleau are likely to be particularly affected by snow and freezing rain, and will be under orange vigilance from Thursday morning. According to Le Parisien, the snow is expected to cross Brittany, passing through the Paris region and ending in Alsace.
Although the snow is not expected to fall on Friday, it could well pick up again on Saturday, when a fine blanket of snow will cover the Paris region by evening. In any case, we advise you to wrap up warm, and to limit your travels as much as possible, especially if you have to take the car!
