A new “tiers-lieu” in the capital? A former hospital in the 14th arrondissement, soon to undergo renovation, is set to open its site to the public! The Plateau Urbain team will be bringing the premises to life, from the gardens to the historic building, starting this summer!
A new district on the site of the former La Rochefoucauld hospital
Closing in 2019, the La Rochefoucauld hospital is currently undergoing a major transformation. This 1.86-hectare site is at the heart of an ambitious rehabilitation project aimed at creating a dynamic, multi-use hub open to the 14ᵉ district in which it is located!
Eventually, the site will include social housing, a campus for landscape trades, cultural facilities and local shops! Another feature of this urban island is its 1.2-hectare public park! The completion of the project, which also includes the rehabilitation of the 18th-century hospital, is scheduled for 2029. Until then, the site will be partly accessible to the public under a temporary occupation by Plateau Urbain, the same Plateau Urbain that has already been responsible for a host of brilliant venues such as Césure, Arches Citoyennes and Grands Voisins in the past! Don’t wait until 2029 to make the place your own!
A new “tiers-lieu” in the 14ᵉ arrondissement
Plateau Urbain has already started taking over the premises! After a sneak preview at an inauguration party at the end of June, you’ll be able to make the most of this new third-place on this truly unique site, which combines green space and a historic building right in the middle of the city!

We already know that associations, social economy players, artists and craftsmen will be involved in bringing the former hospital back to life. Plateau Urbain will animate this third-living space for a period of at least 15 months, allowing us to take full advantage of their lively and inquisitive programming! See you on July 16!
