This Sunday marks the 48th edition of the Paris 20K. This legendary race will start at the Pont d’Iéna, then wind through the 16th and 7th arrondissements before passing through the Bois de Boulogne and finishing at Place Jacques Rueff. In short, I might as well tell you right away—getting around is going to be more than a little tricky! Here’s what you need to know.
Three metro lines closed
Lines 6, 11, and 13 will be completely out of service this Sunday. The modernization work is scheduled to coincide exactly with the race. Specifically, Line 6 will be completely closed all day, while Lines 11 and 13 will be out of service along their entire routes until 12 p.m.
Please note: The RER C will also not be running between Invalides and Austerlitz Station until 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11.
Roads closed on Saturday and Sunday
Were you planning to take the car? We’re almost tempted to encourage you to leave it in the garage this weekend. Avenue Joseph Bouvard will be closed from 8 a.m. on Saturday until 6 p.m. on Sunday. Cars will not be allowed to drive from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday in the following areas:
- Place de Varsovie

- The Quai Louis Blériot (from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
Of course, all streets affected by the race will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

As for the ring road, it’s the same story! From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., expect the on-ramps to be closed:
- Porte Dauphine / Rue Henri le Vaulx
- Porte Lafond, Porte Molitor
- Exit 6, Porte de Saint-Cloud
No parking starting Friday evening in certain areas of the capital
Starting this Friday, October 9, you’ll be strictly prohibited from parking on Avenue Joseph Bouvard from 6 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 11.
Likewise, you won’t be able to park your car on Avenue de Suffren, between Quai Jacques Chirac and Rue du Général Lambert, this Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This ban also applies to Quai Jacques Chirac, specifically between Avenue de la Bourdonnais and Rue de la Fédération.
If your vehicle obstructs the race course or compromises safety, it could be towed and you could be issued a ticket… In short , we wish you the best of luck!
