Always home to a host of highly tempting addresses, the 9th arrondissement has just welcomed a new nugget into its midst. At the start of the new school year, the residents of rue Condorcet were delighted with the inauguration of Dame, a restaurant headed up by chef Matthieu Charriaud. On the menu: tasty sharing dishes, good music and an atmosphere straight out of the seventies. Let us introduce you to this unusual address at the foot of Butte Montmartre.
Dame, the mouth-watering new cantine in the 9th arrondissement
Located in the heart of rue Condorcet, home to the brilliant Shinjuku, Dame opened its doors in September 2024, and is a direct addition to the list of good addresses in the area. In a trendy seventies decor, nothing has been left to chance and every detail is impeccable. From the furnishings to the decor, the retro spirit is felt from floor to ceiling, right down to the ears. And the reason? The establishment’s fine vinyl collection, vintage speakers and this authentic turntable set vertically, playing groovy, funky sounds.
On the plate, your taste buds will be pampered by Matthieu Charriaud, formerly of Le Meurice and now head of Bonhomme. Thanks to his straightforward, tasty and seasonal cuisine, you’ll be able to feast on sublime produce. As far as the menu is concerned, originality is the order of the day, as it is divided into just two parts: cold and hot. Then, for each dish, you’ll have to choose the 1, 2 or 4-person version, depending on your appetite and the number of guests.
The experience begins with the cold part, for example, with Montalet‘s delicious coppa. Sardines in oil and aïoli, beef tataki or Greek-style fennel will make up the rest of the starters. For hot dishes, there’s a choice of several items, including saddle of lamb, the incredible filet of Aubrac beef and marinated Tarn pork loin, which is fast becoming the house signature dish. Special mention must also be made of the line-caught cod and celeriac with honey, which are well worth the detour! All that’s left to do is choose a side dish and sauce, and your made-to-measure dish is ready to enjoy.
Last but not least, you can count on the oenological expertise of our team to guide you through the process. With 120 references, Dame’s wine list is based on vineyards from all over France, and promises great combinations.
It’s up to you to try them out!
