As you know, the RATP has been carrying out major construction work across its entire network for several months now! Both the metro and the Transilien lines are affected, and some will be suspended for several days in a row. And the RER C is no exception! It will be partially suspended for 39 days on a section of its western line… Here are the details you need to know.
The RER C will be partially closed along a large section of its line….

Starting this summer, the RER C will begin extensive renovation work on its line, complicating the commute for thousands of residents of the Paris region. Specifically, no trains will be running:
- from July 12 to August 23 between Pont de Rungis and Massy Palaiseau
- from July 15 to August 23 between:
Paris Austerlitz and Versailles Château Rive Gauche
Paris Austerlitzand Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines
Paris Austerlitzand Avenue Henri Martin - July 26 and August1–23 betweenAvenue Henri Martin and Pontoise
The reason? The line must be made safe in the event of flooding of the Seine, particularly in its central tunnel. The tunnel will be equipped with state-of-the-art flood protection. Additionally, an overhead wire will be installed in the central tunnel to improve network reliability and limit technical incidents, which are responsible for numerous delays and service disruptions…
While some replacement buses will be in service, regular users of this line will need to make alternative arrangements to continue traveling on this section… Good luck to everyone!
