While summer means vacations and sunshine for most of us, RATP riders know all too well that it also means hassles and construction. Indeed , just like every summer, the RATPis launching several rounds of modernization work on its network. The metro, trams, and RER are all affected! Among them? Line A! This line— the busiest in Europe, serving no fewer than 40 stations—may cause you some trouble this summer. Here’s the latest!
The RER A will be partially closed all summer
Every day, thousands of passengers take the RER A to Paris and its surrounding areas. But this summer, your commutes may be complicated. In fact, from June 29 through August 30, the Nation station will be completely closed. Trains will continue on without stopping there, leaving thousands of residents of the Île-de-France region in a bind.
And that’s not all! From August 8 to 23, the stations between Vincennes and Noisy-le-Grand Mont d’Est will be closed—that’s eight stations… Of course, most of these closed sections can be covered by other metro lines or replacement buses. But as usual, and whenever possible, don’t hesitate to change your route, work from home, carpool, or use other forms of public transportation… Good luck and have a great summer!
