Attention all lovers of Paris d’antan, an incredibly retro event is set to liven up the streets of Paris starting this weekend at the end of September. For the first time since 1943, the incredible and mythical Course des Triporteurs will return to the 11th arrondissement and take us back to an event Parisians loved in the early 20th century. See you on Sunday September 22 to attend or take part in this incredible event.
Course des Triporteurs: the historic event rises from the ashes in Paris
Created in 1900 by the forerunner of the journal L’Équipe, the Course des Triporteurs set the hearts of Parisians alight for over 40 years. And today, the sporting event is rising from the ashes thanks to the work of a few enthusiasts. The rendezvous is set for September 22 at 12:30 pm, when participants will set off to attack this 11-kilometer course, drawn between boulevard Charonne, rue de la Plaine, rue Mounet-Sully and rue de Lagny.
If you don’t say no to a challenge and want to take part in this awesome gathering, the rules are very simple. Your machine must have one rear wheel and two front wheels, as well as a body at least 50 centimetres square. Scooters must not be electric, and the “one rider per scooter, one scooter per rider” rule must be followed. That’s about it, now all you have to do is register on this link!
After the big race, the three-wheelers will make way for a few curiosities on wheels, on the occasion of the fantastic cyclo-parade. Indeed, this true celebration of cycling will aim to bring together enthusiasts, owners of atypical bikes like the grand bi, tall bikes and other tandems.
All in all, it’s going to be a pretty crazy day on Sunday, mixing race and parade. A convivial and almost historic event not to be missed!
