Always at the center of debate, mobility and its cost are once again in the news in Paris. At issue is the very likely increase in the Navigo pass, scheduled for January 2025. Based on inflation forecasts of almost 2% for 2025, Île de France Mobilités, according to the current calculation formula, would have to raise the price of the Navigo pass to €88.80 per month, i.e. €2.20 more than the current rates.
Towards a further increase in the price of the Navigo pass in 2025
After the heavy increase in the Navigo pass in 2023 (from €75.20 to €84.10), followed by the €2.30 increase in 2024, Île de France Mobilités is likely to follow suit in 2025 with a further price hike. And while the official fare will not be voted on until 2025, we can already make projections on the future cost of the monthly pass, thanks in particular to the financial agreement reached between Valérie Pécresse and the government last year. The monthly Navigo pass is set to rise by €2.20 next year, to €88.80.
This increase follows a series of new measures already announced. In September, for example, Île de France Mobilités announced the introduction of a single €2.50 fare for metro tickets, regardless of the distance traveled. For the Liberté + pass, the €1.73 fare will rise to €1.99 for travel on the metro, RER and trains, and €1.60 for buses and streetcars. Another change is that airport tickets covering the different ways of getting to Orly or Roissy will now cost €13 as a single fare. The final change concerns the Navigo Jour pass, which will cost €12, compared with €20.60 today. However, this pass will not allow you to travel to Paris airports.
Now you know everything about these new fares. As a reminder, they will come into force on January 2, 2025.
