Ploumanac’h and its pink beach: a magical weekend getaway
At first glance, it’s hard to believe that such a setting actually exists. Yet Ploumanac’h Beach is indeed a natural wonder unique in France. Flanked by gigantic blocks of pink granite sculpted by the wind and waves, it also charms visitors with its sand, which is slightly tinged with pink in places.

The contrast between the pinkish hues of the rocks, the light-colored sand, and the turquoise waters gives the site an almost surreal appearance. This very distinctive color is due to the presence of tiny fragments of pink granite mixed into the sand through erosion. As for the famous rocks, they’re rich in feldspar and iron oxides, which explains their color.

In fact, thecharming villageof Ploumanac’h was voted“the French people’s favorite village” in 2015! If you enjoy watching the sunset, we recommend taking the customs officers’ trail from the village: it’s simply unforgettable.
