Winter is fast approaching, and with it the promise of magical moments in the heart of Paris. Once again this year, Galeries Lafayette Haussmann has come up with imaginative ways to make the eyes of young and old shine. From a rooftop skating rink overlooking the Eiffel Tower to spectacular Christmas window displays, get ready for a truly magical experience!
Galeries Lafayette’s new Christmas window theme: “The most beautiful gift”.
Before putting on your skates, it’s impossible not to make a detour to the department store’s famous Christmas windows. Andthis year’s theme is “Le plus beau des cadeaux”, imagined in collaboration with illustrator Jeanne Detallante. Before long, the windows will be transformed into living tableaux, retracing the great story of Santa Claus… His office, a giant printer to make gift-wrapping paper, or a sumptuous banquet with bright red motifs. From busy elves to baby elephants and ducks in boots, the magic will be at work in every corner of the shop windows. And under the mythical Cupola, the giant 16-metre Christmas tree is sure to impress visitors. 8 km of LED garlands, 560 kg of ribbons and 300 kg of fabric will adorn it with a thousand lights. A magical stroll, not to be missed on the eve of the festive season.
The perched skating rink: in Paris, become an ace skater on the Rooftop, overlooking the Eiffel Tower.
After a shopping session or before hunting for the best Christmas gifts to put under the tree, head for the Galeries Lafayette Rooftop! Up there, an ephemeral 176 m2 skating rink will soon be waiting for you, with a synthetic track designed to offer a unique sliding experience, while respecting the environment. Imagine skating in the Paris skyline, with the glittering Eiffel Tower in the background… A suspended moment, to be enjoyed with family, friends or lovers, all in an enchanted atmosphere. Opening dates will be announced very soon, so stay tuned: the magic of Christmas at Galeries Lafayette is sure to surprise you!
