A tiny village 2 hours from Paris
This charming Normandy village, nestled in the heart of the countryside, is a true haven of peace. Bec-Hellouin is known for its authentic charm, cobbled, flower-filled streets and charming half-timbered houses. No wonder it’s one of the most beautiful villages in France! In summer, you’ll discover a multitude of colorful flowers, poetically adorning the streets and facades… But the highlight is the thousand-year-old abbey of Notre-Dame du Bec, a listed historic monument.

Founded in 1034 by the knight Herluin, this abbey is one of the few in France still inhabited by Benedictine monks from the Mont Olivet congregation. You can visit this historic site every day except Tuesdays and during services. With its magnificent grounds and age-old architecture, you’ll love wandering around this unspoilt abbey, bathed in light and tranquillity. The abbey also offers spiritual retreats for all those seeking a time for themselves, to meditate, rediscover their faith and get to know themselves better.

A history marked by centuries
Don’t miss the Tour Saint-Nicolas. A true emblem of the village, it has survived wars and even the bombings of the Second World War. Overlooking the village from a height of 45 metres, it offers a breathtaking view of the entire Bec valley. Believe us, its 120 steps are well worth the climb!

This tiny village of 400 inhabitants will never cease to enchant you. Every nook and cranny of the town is full of surprises, and you’ll love getting lost in its 1,000-year-old streets. A real trip back in time, perfect for a weekend away from it all.
