Hundreds of “sausages on legs” will soon take over one of Paris’s most famous avenues. On Sunday, October 4, 2026, the Paris Sausage Walk will bring together dachshund owners, breed enthusiasts, and the simply curious for a big, free walk along the Champs-Élysées. This marks a first for the event, which has been held since 2018 and previously took place along the banks of the Seine.
For this 7th edition, the gathering is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the top of the Champs-Élysées. The march will begin at 11 a.m. The procession will proceed down the avenue to the Rond-Point des Champs-Élysées before heading back up toward its starting point.
The Paris Sausage Walk is taking place on the Champs-Élysées for the first time

The Champs-Élysées will be closed to traffic for the occasion, making way for smooth-, long-, and wire-haired dachshunds, some of whom will be sporting outfits and accessories designed especially for the day. The event remains open to everyone, however: you don’t need to own a dachshund to come and watch the parade.
Behind its unusual nature, the walk remains, above all, a cause for solidarity. It supports “Teckels Sans Doux Foyer,” an organization that rescues and cares for abandoned or abused dogs before finding them new families. The date was not chosen at random: October 4 also marks World Animal Day.
Location: Avenue des Champs-Élysées, 75008 Paris
Schedule: Sunday, October 4, 2026; registration begins at 10 a.m., and the walk runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; free admission.
