About 30 minutes from Paris, a vast urban and landscape development project is set to transform the entire eastern region of Île-de-France. Located on the Romainville plateau, at an altitude of about 100 meters, this new green belt will span nine municipalities. An ambitious project that you can already explore and which will be completed in 2030.
A new park for Greater Paris
The Parc des Hauteurs will not be a single green space in the strict sense of the term. This vast ecological project will connect several parks and green spaces in eastern Greater Paris, such as Henri-Barbusse Park and the Parc de la République in Pantin. Spanning 42 km across the Romainville plateau, walkers and weekend athletes will be able to enjoy a 360° view of the entire plateau at their leisure, let off steam in 43 hectares of sports facilities, and explore 8 hectares of community gardens.

Accessible by metro via lines 11 and 5, this green corridor will pass through nine municipalities: Romainville, Pantin, Les Lilas, Montreuil, Bagnolet, Noisy-le-Sec, Rosny-sous-Bois, Bondy, and Le Pré-Saint-Gervais. You’ll be able to discover various natural points of interest, including lookout points set up along this long route and forest trails winding through the surrounding area. Every year in early fall, a free 15-km hike will give you the chance to explore the area and discover all that makes this place so special!
While the first developments have been visible since 2022, we’ll have to wait until 2030 before we can fully explore this Central Park of Île-de-France.
