On the evening of September 30, four Paris monuments were lit up in brilliant pink to mark the major breast cancer awareness campaign taking place throughout the month of October. Among them, of course, the Eiffel Tower! Back in pictures!
Pink October illuminations: four monuments lit up
Once again this year, and for more than 10 years, the Eiffel Tower was illuminated in pink, to mark the Pink October campaign organized by the Ruban Rose association. But it wasn’t the only one, as from September 30, the obelisk on Place de la Concorde, Place Vendôme and the Assemblée Nationale were all decked out in pink until midnight.
Breast cancer affects one woman in eight in France. Detected in time, it can be cured in 9 out of 10 cases! More than ever, this awareness campaign is essential.
Note that the Eiffel Tower will be switched off earlier in October. You’ll be able to see it sparkling from 8pm until midnight , rather than until 1am as before. The reason? The Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, has announced that from September 23, 2024, the Eiffel Tower will be switched off earlier to save energy…

On the evening of September 30, a free show was held at Place Vendôme in honor of this important cause. Singer Amir was on hand for a musical performance, and a parade of eight women suffering from breast cancer took place. Choreography, special guests… The show was simply magnificent.
