Every winter, the Square RenĂ©-Viviani, just opposite the majestic Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, is transformed into a veritable Christmas village. For this 2025 edition, the chalets will open from Friday, November 28 to Thursday, December 25, offering a moment of enchantment just a stone’s throw from the Seine. In this historic setting, visitors will find a selection of French artisans and regional gastronomic specialties, all in a warm, festive atmosphere.
The Notre-Dame Christmas market makes a comeback
As usual, the market will feature exhibitors chosen for the quality of their products: silver jewelry, wooden objects, ceramics, clothing, as well as local charcuterie, mature cheeses, pommes d’amour and sweet treats. For lovers of mulled wine, roasted chestnuts or Alsatian pretzels, it’s a chance to combine end-of-year shopping with a stroll in a magical setting. In short, everything that makes a successful Christmas market.
The market is not confined to the chalets, with entertainment taking place every day. Every day, Santa Claus makes an appearance at the heart of the market, giving children the chance to take home a souvenir photo. Free drawing workshops are also on offer: young visitors can express their creativity before entering a draw to win a cuddly toy. From 4 p.m. onwards, there will also be a lively musical atmosphere, with Gospel choirs, brass bands and jazz concerts set up at the foot of the cathedral facing the Seine. Christmas storytelling will also enliven the space, inviting the whole family to a moment of magic as they stroll around the artisanal chalets.
With all the chalets set up for the occasion, magical entertainment and, above all, an enchanted setting at the foot of Notre-Dame, all the ingredients are there for an exceptional family moment.
