Are you fed up with the heat? Can’t sleep because of the heat wave? We understand! But starting this weekend, temperatures are finally expected to drop, bringing the relief everyone has been waiting for. According to Météo France, the current heatwave is expected to last at least until Thursday, June 25, before gradually subsiding… But for how long? The forecast for the coming weeks, unfortunately for us, predicts a new heatwave that could very well last… until July 14…
Heat Wave: Heading Toward a New Peak?
While 58 departments across France are currently suffering from this extreme heat, its intensity is expected to decrease starting this weekend and throughout next week.
In fact, cooler air will first reach the Atlantic coast before spreading across the entire western part of France starting Sunday. The result? The air will finally be more breathable, and the nights will be much cooler for thousands of residents of the Île-de-France region.

A scenario confirmed by Minister of Ecological Transition Monique Barbu, but one that will unfortunately be short-lived… In fact, starting the week of July 6, new “extreme” temperatures are expected to hit the country once again, and these could well last through July 14. Indeed, anothersurge of scorching air from the Sahara could once again hit Paris and the rest of France for several days…
While it’s still very difficultat this point to gauge the intensity and duration of this upcoming heat wave, meteorologistsare fairly unanimous on the matter : the increasing frequency of such events is inevitable. Let’s hope it remains bearable for everyone!
In the meantime, as you know, there’s no secret to staying cool: stay in the shade during the day, open the windows in the evening, close the shutters and curtains during the day, and drink plenty of water.
