Following in the footsteps of the many bouillons in Paris, a newcomer has just set up shop between the 7th and 15th arrondissements. Close to the Eiffel Tower, Bouillon Champ-de-Mars welcomes its first enthusiastic customers to its vast space, and follows in the historic tradition of these establishments with a gourmet, affordable menu.
A new XXL bouillon in the heart of the capital
With no links whatsoever to the République or Chartier bouillons, the new Bouillon Champ-de-Mars has taken the gamble of opening its doors in the 15th arrondissement. For the past few weeks, gourmets have been flocking to 70bis, avenue de Suffren, to enjoy a quick, affordable lunch in the pure tradition of these historic restaurants.
Housed in a former furniture store that briefly became an all-you-can-eat buffet, Bouillon Champ-de-Mars takes advantage of a huge space. In an interview with Le Parisien, the restaurant’s manager said there was enough room to accommodate 450 guests at a time.
On the plate, you’ll find many emblematic bistro dishes, and Bouillon Champ-de-Mars boasts a menu that’s almost entirely homemade. Examples include leek vinaigrette, tarte tatin de boudin and pâté de campagne. And of course, the restaurant’s other strong point is the price! Here, you can have a good mayo egg for €1.90, but also a good Perche sausage with olive purée for less than €10. For dessert, for example, you can enjoy a yuzu lemon tart for €3.60.
Open daily from midday to midnight, this new bouillon offers an affordable option by local standards. All that’s left is to give it a try!
