Running ten kilometers in Paris—until now—hasn’t been too difficult for seasoned runners. But running them through the streets of Montmartre, with its cobblestones, hills, and sharp turns, is another story. After attracting 10,000 participants for its very first edition, the Montmartre 10K will return on Sunday, January 24, 2027. And runners can already reserve their race bibs.
Launched last January by ASO, which also organizes the Tour de France and the Paris Marathon, the race sold out in just one month. Its success is largely due to a course that’s quite unusual for a Parisian race: rather than seeking out long straightaways, the organizers chose to have participants climb the Montmartre hill.
Following the Olympic Games and the Tour de France, Montmartre is once again welcoming runners
The 2026 course featured a total elevation gain of 153 meters, starting on Boulevard Ornano and finishing on Rue Ordener, in front of the 18th arrondissement town hall. Along the way, participants ran down Rue Lepic and past the Sacré-Cœur Basilica.

A route that inevitably brought back some memories. The famous climb up Rue Lepic had already hosted cyclists during the 2024 Paris Olympics, and then those of the 2025 Tour de France. This time, spectators were cheering on thousands of runners.
For the second edition, the organizers promise to retain this mix of fast stretches and challenging climbs in the 18th arrondissement. However, the final route for 2027 has not yet been revealed.
Registration for the 2027 Montmartre 10K is already open
You don’t need to be an expert to participate; the race is open to amateur runners, though those hoping to beat their personal best will need to factor in the hilly terrain. In the first edition, winner Gabriel Briand completed the 10 kilometers in 31 minutes and 16 seconds, despite the course’s challenges.
Registration fees are currently around €42 for an individual race number. There is also a charity option that allows runners to race to benefit partner organizations, particularly to support cancer research.
With 10,000 participants in its first year and race numbers selling out quickly, it’s best not to wait until January to register. Registration is available on the official 10K Montmartre website.
