Lofi Girl opens her first café in Paris
If you’re a fan of relaxing music, and like to work from home, then you’re bound to know Lofi Girl. Since 2017, this little “Ghibli”-style animated character has been accompanying all lofi lovers. This soft, warm music was originally a so-called “primitive” sound due to the poor quality of sound recording. Little by little, it gained in popularity, lending itself to all genres: Rock, Hip-Hop… The music seems slowed down, with a softer rhythm. While this type of sound has been exploited in the music industry since the 50s, it was a big hit on the Internet, particularly during Covid, where viewers from all over the world were looking for a cosy, soothing ambience.
According to some studies, Lofi music even helps to reduce stress and improve concentration. No wonder our Lofi Girl was such a hit. And for the record, she’s French! From her window, you can even see Lyon’s Croix-Rousse district. In 2026, a Lofi café will open in Paris, on rue Saint-Denis, close to the Pompidou Centre. Although we don’t yet know the opening date, we do know that this place will offer a cosy place to take a break, work and relax. We can well imagine a café area, spaces for working well, with lofi music of course.
