Built in the 15th century,this fortified castle offers a breathtaking view of the entire valley and allowed the 4,000 men who lived there to monitor the surroundings… So much so that not a single enemy has ever breached its walls in six centuries.
This immense 35,000-square-meter stone fortress, featuring impressive moats, towering turrets, and sturdy ramparts, nearly disappeared in 1962… to make way for a massive shopping mall that would have replaced it! A project that, fortunately, never came to fruition.
Throughout the year, the estate comes alive with numerous activities for all ages, such as falconry and archery demonstrations, concerts, and street performances in period costume…a true journey back in time that will transport you to another era!
