A Christmas market like no other will be taking place at Cité Fertile. From December 7 to 8, 2024, La Cité Fertile will be hosting Shizen, a Japanese Christmas village! More than 80 food and craft exhibitors await you for a 100% Japanese Christmas!
A village-like Japanese Christmas market at La Cité Fertile
In December, Christmas markets and events abound, but they’re never the same! Among those that really stand out from the crowd, Shizen is a must! Shizen is a market with a Japanese village feel that has been held in the capital since 2020, and will be bringing its incredible stalls and exciting program of events to La Cité Fertile! Whether you’re looking to shake things up for the festive season, put a little Japan under your Christmas tree or discover a little more about the culture of the archipelago, this market is the ideal destination!
Gastronomy, crafts and conferences… Focus on Japanese culture
Shizen is all about Japanese culture, crafts and gastronomy! This year, some 80 exhibitors will be on hand to share their expertise and unique products with you! Japanese food will be particularly well represented in the aisles of the village, with stands where you can sample a few specialties and fill your shopping bag with groceries, sake and other beverages typical of the archipelago! And at other stands, you can admire the creations of fairy-fingered artisans and fill your shopping bag!
To complete this fabulous exploration of Japanese lands, this Japanese Christmas market has also concocted a rich program of activities and entertainment (some of which are surprising!). Musical performances (based on the music of Hayao Miyazaki‘s films) and theatrical performances, talks, workshops and screenings will all be organized to give you a different perspective on the archipelago! And for the ultimate in immersion, treat yourself to a dip in an onsen, a Japanese Jacuzzi!
