The Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection has recently opened its doors to an immersive and contemplative work of art. Named Clinamen, this XXL aquatic and musical installation by Céleste Boursier-Mougenot transforms the museum’s Rotonde into a space of sound and visual meditation. But why do visitors flock to the Bourse de Commerce for this sensory experience? What’s so special about it that attracts so many crowds?
Why has an 18-meter-diameter pool been installed under the rotunda of the Bourse de Commerce?
But what is this immersive installation? Filled with water and white porcelain bowls that float and clash under the effect of a gentle current, the installation consists of an 18-meter-diameter circular basin. As the immaculate bowls gently clash, they create a kind of aquatic choreography. An undulating ballet that diffuses a gentle, soothing melody, evocative of the wind rustling on the masts of sailing ships.
A visit-experience, a moment suspended in time
Created by Céleste Boursier-Mougenot, this immersive, dream-inducing project takes its name from Epicurean physics. Named Clinamen, the work refers to the random trajectory of atoms in motion. Each visit thus becomes a unique experience, where sounds and movements constantly evolve.
Beneath the dome of the Bourse de Commerce, Clinamen…
Under the majestic dome of the Bourse de Commerce, it’s time for contemplation and relaxation. Sitting around the pool, visitors let themselves be carried away by the gentle acoustic vibrations, ASMR-style. In a world where everything moves at a thousand miles an hour, in a city as effervescent as Paris, Clinamen invites visitors to slow down and breathe. A suspended moment imbued with poetry, and a great opportunity to immerse yourself in a bubble of serenity.
