You take it every day, to get from point A to point B. Sometimes you grumble when it’s late or crowded, and you’re amazed when you finally find a seat! We’re talking about the metro, of course. But are you using its official app, the one that covers the entire RATP network and beyond? Here are six secrets from the idf Mobilités app that will change your journeys.
1 – The app tells you where to sit in the metro to save time
Got a connecting train? Or just want to get out as quickly as possible to get to the office? The app tells you where to stand in the train to better anticipate your future journeys! Practical, isn’t it?
2 – You can buy your tickets electronically
Why bother with cardboard tickets when everything can fit on your phone? With the app, it’s super simple! You can buy metro, bus and RER tickets, as well as monthly, weekly or daily Navigo passes, directly on the app.
3 – You can rent a Vélib, a scooter or a car-sharing scheme
Incredible but true, thanks to the app, you can rent a Vélib’, a scooter or a car through car-sharing. It couldn’t be simpler! In the “Purchase” section, click on “Reserve or purchase complementary mobility service tickets” and find what you need. The map will quickly show you the nearest alternative means of transport. A great alternative if your train was cancelled at the last minute.
4 – You can recharge your Navigo pass directly on the application
Endless waits at the beginning of each month? No more! You can now top up your Navigo pass without going to the ticket office. To do so, go to the Île-de-France Mobilités app, in the Purchase section, click on “mon passe Navigo”, place your pass under your phone and follow the instructions. That’s it! In just a few minutes, and from the comfort of your sofa, your pass is recharged!
5 – You can report incivility, harassment or aggression
Have you witnessed or been the victim of an aggression? Don’t wait any longer! Open the Île-de-France Mobilités application and click on the 3117 icon on the home screen. This will enable you to call the emergency services directly and alert other users.
6 – You can activate notifications to follow all the news about your favorite line
Do you take the 3, 8 or any other line every day? The Île-de-France Mobilités application lets you receive all the information you need about the metro line you use most: traffic, timetables, delays, works… To do so, go to the “Traffic info” section of the application, select the line you’re interested in and press the bell at the top right of the screen. You can also personalize the notifications, by choosing the days and times when you’d like to receive the news. How convenient is that?
